This Isn’t a Fitness Post. It’s Still Important.
Grateful I got to stand on that stage. Clearer than ever about what I stand for now.
I don’t usually write about politics because it simply isn’t related to my business. I do have opinions though, and what’s happening in the world is sitting heavily with me.
Right now, pretending something isn’t happening feels louder than saying something quietly.
Over the past decades, I’ve spent my fair share of time in the US. Competing, coaching, learning, forming friendships and seeing parts of the country I once thought I’d return to again and again.
Lately, I’ve been sitting with the real possibility that I might not.
Not because I suddenly dislike the place, but because I’m disturbed by the normalisation of authoritarianism, racism & the erosion of basic human dignity. When cruelty becomes political strategy, silence no longer feels neutral.
This matters to me more than you might realise.
Right now, I can’t fully separate my work from what’s happening globally.
So, there is no ‘3 tips on optimising your health’ from me this week.
This is simply me being clear on where I stand.
If this feels off-brand, that’s okay.
We’ll return to protein, training, sleep and mindset next week.
I just didn’t want silence to be mistaken for neutrality.
